The ganassi soprano in C is a scaled version of the G-alto designed by Morgan. I in turn scaled that to a D instrument. These instruments have a very wide bore. This gives them a solid earthy sound, especially in the low notes. They are great for playing solo renaissance music.

Some players also prefer them for early baroque repertoire. Though they might be a bit loud for that, they do give the player a lot of possibilities to steer the sound and play with a lot of dynamics. The combination with a rich harpsichord in a church or large room can be quite magical.

Ganassi sopranos are available in C or D in pitches 415, 440 and 466 Hz with up to three bodies with each head.
