Renaissance basset	440 or 466 Hz

An instrument based on an original by Bassano in the Vienna collection, SAM 164, a beautiful late renaissance bass in F.

My version is available in 440 or 466 Hz. It has an open sound that blends well in a consort but still stands it’s ground against other instruments.



I make it in three parts and with a direct blown cap over the mouth piece. The objective here is to make a practical instrument that can be used in a wide variety of musical situations.
